Yesterday, Ian from the Sovereign Order of St John delivered a generous check, on behalf of the Sovereign Order and the Times Colonist to Evan at Umbrella.
These funds will be used to offset the rising costs of food at our recovery houses, which allows us to continue to keep our rents affordable for our residents on low income.
Because food and utilities are included in Foundation House rent, we have been worried about potentially raising rent next year due to the dramatic increase in costs of food, but thanks to the Times Colonist we won’t need to do that.
We are incredibly grateful, and so are our residents.
