Umbrella is grateful for the support from the Telus Friendly Future Foundation who granted us $15,000 to help people struggling with substance use issues.

We received this grant to provide support to individuals who have been living in transitional housing units and are wanting to look at their mental health and addiction issues. Some are being moved as the government transitions individuals into independent living opportunities, but most are without community supports. Umbrella is grateful to be able to provide continuous care and connection.

Since the COVID 19 pandemic began, Umbrella has been providing support to residents at Topaz Park, Save On Foods Memorial Arena, Comfort Inn and Travel Lodge. Our amazing team has built strong relationships with the residents and have been providing help to many around their substance use issues, connecting to helpful resources, completing referrals and applications and much more.

Umbrella has team members located throughout our community from hospitals, clinics, intensive case management teams, and general outreach that can help bridge the gap when individuals are needing help.

Thank you Telus for this opportunity!
