Umbrella is pleased to share that we have opened registration for the second run of the Dad’s Wellness Group.

This low barrier group is appropriate for all types of dads struggling with issues related to substance use; new dads, step-dads, dads with or without custody of their kids, dads to be and any other kind of dads.

This group is designed to challenge each dad while they learn and have deeper conversations about a range of topics including substance use, communication, navigating anger and emotions, wellness, and self-compassion.

The conversation begins Tuesday, March 3rd  and continue to run each Tuesday until March 31st  at Umbrella’s office.

Our skilled facilitators are both dads in recovery from substance use issues. Their lived experience, knowledge of community resources and their own passion to help fellow dads, will make these groups interesting, informative and fun.

The participants will complete these sessions with a greater understanding of their own issues, comprehensive and effective ways of coping with difficult and stressful situations, and strong connections and supports.

These sessions have a participant capacity and preference will be given to registrants who commit to attending all five sessions. Registration will close when the program is full, or by February 25th.

All participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the sessions.

For more information, or to register, please contact our office at either wecanhelp@umbrellasociety.ca or 250-380-0595.

Justin and Evan, our Dad’s Wellness Group facilitators.
