Umbrella is excited to announce a new, four-week recovery group called “Comfortably UN-Numb; Learning to Live without Substances” starting in September 2020, with additional groups in October and November. This group is ideal for those who have chosen to live their life without substances, and need some help managing the “what’s next” in their recovery journey. This group will delve into important topics such as communications, finances, relationships, forgiveness and much more, weekdays from 9-11:30am.
Justin Bennett, our group facilitator will partner with other community leaders to present a fun, safe and supportive environment for participants to learn helpful skills and tools that will assist them as they continue to explore their life without using substances.
Each group will have guest speakers, workshops, outings and extra support offered with coffee, snacks and supplies provided. There is no charge for this group, but participants are expected to attend all sessions and be able to adhere to group expectations.
Umbrella will host this exciting new recovery group at our office centrally located on a bus route, with lots of free street parking, but will keep the groups small to allow for social distancing and adherence to COVID requirements. To apply to be part of these group sessions please contact our office at 250-380-0595 or by email at wecanhelp@umbrellasociety.ca. Once an application has been completed, a meeting will be arranged to review group readiness and outline group expectations.
