Last weekend, Umbrella staff had another amazing year participating in Soberfest. This was the 4th annual event centered around celebrating sobriety in a fun, family-friendly event. As a recovery organization, we feel it’s critical to celebrate living in recovery and the joy that is possible. Umbrella staff members Emily, Amy, Stefanie, Kevin, Josh, and Lance were representing the great work that we do by connecting with community members and providing information about the various programs and services we offer.  Here are some stories from our staff about their experiences during the day:

“Had a lady come up to the booth and thank us for helping her daughter. She started to cry telling me that because of Umbrella her daughter is now 3 months clean, then she just left. I thanked her for sharing that, and on behalf of Umbrella told her she was welcome, and that it was our pleasure. Have I tell you it was pretty awesome to receive that kind feedback”

Lions Pride Recovery folks Megan and Jimmy (stopped by our booth). Amazing opportunity to meet with them and talk about their own journeys and the decision to separate from SOLID to focus their efforts on helping the community get better and their quick access to treatment on the mainland. They are both in recovery. We now have business cards and pamphlets about them”

Big thank you to Rewired Recovery for putting on another amazing sober event. We are already excited for next year!
